Sell a broken bike in Chile

Hi all

I have a big problem. I planned to do a big trip on a motorcycle starting in Chile. Therefore I bought an old DRZ 400 in Switzerland and completely equipped it to be an adventure bike. Unfortunately the motor completely broke down after just 2500km here. Now I managed to get the bike back to Santiago but the reparation would only be possible with a completely new engine. This would take a lot of time and be very expensive. As I completely lost faith in my bike and my motivation is also gone, I just want to end the trip and don't spend any more money. Therefore I need to find a way, how to further proceed with the bike. Is there any way I can sell it in Chile? As I wrote above, it is fully equipped with aftermarked parts, such as Safari 28l Tank, Lynx Fairing, Seat Concepts seat, updated Suspension, Luggage Rack and other parts. I think it could be a good bargain for a local guy and I would be willing to give it to a very low price.
I am not looking for any illegal options.
Thanks for the help!

Regards, Luca

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
