Motocross boots and tyres in Bogota?

Hi,

my husband and I are heading up to Bogota in the next few days and both of us need new motocross boots! We thought that ours woudl last until we reached north America....but no...after almost 7 years use (4 of those continuously!) they´ve given up the ghost!

can anyone recommend motocross accessory shops in Bogota where we could buy say...alpinestars and/or Gaerne motocross boots.

I also need tyres for my F650GS....I like to have Conti´s TCK80´s but Pirelli MT60s would be fine too....recoms in Bogota again?

any help appreciated.

The Ktm guy in Bogota has a load of gear, xtreme machines, diagonal 127a#9b-41,get a taxi and save a bit of time, also carretera 15 con 87,there were a couple of bike shops with quality gear especially the one on the right on the north, there is also a very helpful BM dealer mentioned in the hubb somewhere spoke to them a couple of months ago and they did the servicing on two mates of mine,s 1150 gs,es and they came away very satisfied,as all the rumors suggest the guy here in Quito is crap, good luck

boots

Cant recomend a shop, but far as boots go im a tech6 man all the way, tech8s come with the inner slipper but its more a gimmick..tech6s stiff to start with but wax em a couple of times and they will be your best friend for a long time..not entirly water proof but a good strong boot..

Regards from jake (stuck in china awaiting parts)

Check out the Bogota Race Centre - all manner of good gear there. Probably the best bike shop in Bogota for diversity of gear and spares. I posted the address in the recommended workshops forum some time back.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
