help, how to get a rut in chile?

hi, ive just arrived in chile and went to the servicio de impuesto today to get my rut and was told that i need a signature of a local person on the form who will act as a guarantor incase i leave the country owing any tax money. i think this law came in in 2014 and i never heard any info on it before i came here. anyone any ideas on how i can get through this without any friends here to sign for me? any help, much appreciated. thanks

I got a RUT 3 months ago in Santiago.
I walked into the office nearest to my accommodation,
pulled a number to queue, gave the officer my passport and walked out 5 minutes late with the RUT.

Everything without a single word of Spanish. Maybe you should try a different officer, talk less, play stupid more.

RUT

Hey Jono!
I went the the sii on general del Canto two days ago to get a RUT. I had the exact same problem as you. They sent me away without a RUT because I needed a local person to back me up with a signature.

So, did you sort it out? Did you get your RUT on your second try?

Thanks!

Well they allways come up with something new. They send me away because i did not have a visa (From Europa i dont need a visa but only get a entrance stamp at the airport). If you get a local person to help you you can register the vehicle on his name anyway:

I went to the ssi office at general del Canto today again. This time I brought my Chilean friend. We waited in several different lines, talked to a lot of people. And in the end, I didn't get the RUT.
If anyone can shine some light on this problem, feel free to help out.

Thumbs up I got the rut very easily with this company.

When I arrived to Santiago past January, I got the contact of this company named Suzi santiago from a few friends that used their services, and I first had a meeting with them and they explain me everything, they asked me for a photo of my passport, and next day I meet in a notary with them and within a few hours I had my rut, for just 90,000 CLP didn't have to wait longer because they have already special attention on the notary and the servicio de impuestos internos, they provide me the E-RUT and also offer to help me with the process of buying a car. I recommend them so much if you're in a hurry.. If you look up on google "suzi santiago" you will see their website and contact!.

Cheers!
