Hi Gusonopa, i think the reason no one has ansered your question yet is that the information is all here on the hubb, this question has been asked and answered many times. I wrote a post a while ago, here on the Hubb, on how to buy a used bike in Santiago and then how to leave Chile!
The answer is simple, yes you can leave Chile, but cross into Argentina. Chile borders Bolivia, Peru and Argentina. People have had trouble leaving Chile into Peru and Bolivia, but you are free to cross into Argentina and once in Argentina you can then cross into any other country you like.
I am not sure why there are restrictions on the Bolivia/Peru borders. I travelled around S. America on a Chilean bike and i tried to get in touch with the Aduana (customs) to ask them. I have the telephone number of the person in the Aduana who supposedly knows the answer, but i couldn´t reach them the few times i tried. I have friends in Santiago who i also asked to try for me, but they have other things on their mind, and i think it unlikely they will get round to it. However if you speak good Spanish i can give you all the details, you can ring around and let us all know what you find out.
But as far as i know there aren´t people on the Hubb buying Argentian bikes and leaving the country, but there are people buying bikes in Chile and then going all over.
