Finished my Trip

Hey guys, I finally finished my South America trip. I sold my bike in Paraguay (was a lot harder than I thought, $3000 for the dispatchio), took the bus back to Buenos Aires, and got on a plane to Iowa last Sunday. It feels good to have completed the trip without serious injury. Life is a little less exciting now but it is nice to start making money again instead of spending it.

If you want to read a summary of my trip and see pictures please go here:

Hi Geoff

Thank you for all the stories.

I think it has been a long time since one person causes so much uproar on the site! You can be proud of that (-:

Hope to see you somewhere on the road in another part of the world.

aaarrrgghhhRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!:stormy :

I just went to your site to read a great story and I found my PET HATE!!!! DARK TEXT ON A DARK BACKGROUND IS FU'~~/$%ING IMPOSSIBLE TO READ ON MOST COMPUTER SCREENS.

This should be a criminal offense and anyone who does it should be put up against a wall and shot. No exceptions, It's the only way to stamp this out. Same with light text on a light background. Rant over.

Hey SalCar, thanks, I was surprised that my parents knew about your motorcycle tourist business. I guess they continued to follow the HUBB.

Hey Karl, a 2001 or newer BMW bike? Not in 100 years. I think they are fine to drive at home but god forbid you have problems on the road. $$$ I am bikeless at the moment but always have my eye out for a good deal.

Hmmm, I have not had any other complaints about this. Blue is my favorite color so I can not change. Sorry.

Enjoyed reading your stories.

I´m finishing up 7 months in the saddle here in Brazil as well.

I´ll miss logging in to HU and exclaiming "What damn fool thing has he done now"

;-)

Tricky call, but my personal "pet hate" is people who have "pet hates" but can't spell their arguments against them. For example, "criminal offense". Hasta luego!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
