Question Engine rebuild in Chile

Hi all, I'm currently on a RWT and am in the process of shipping my bike to chile. I am driving a Honda Transalp xl650v and would like to rebuild the engine. I will use Johnny Motos as he has some good reviews here on the site.
Now my question: will I find the necessary parts here in Chile to rebuild the engine? And maybe new clutch, waterpump and stuff like that? Or will it all have to be ordered from overseas? I'm a bit worried about the time this will all take...
Also, anyone an idea how much I will spend on labour for a job like this? Would I save a lot of money if I would let this be done in let's say Bolivia or Paraguay?
Thanks in advance
Kevin

Hi Kevinvw - did you have your engine rebuild and if so how pleased are you with Jonny Moto and how was the cost doing it there? How about spare parts - hard to get or not?

I have a Tenere 660 2011 that now have 130 k kms on the clock and it does consume a bit of oil and it uses more fuel than before so I have been thinking about getting the engine rebuild somewhere in SA. But not sure where? I know they assemble the 660Tenere in Brasil - so that might be the country to have it done?

Anyone with some experience or someone who can point me in the right direction - that would have been appriciated a lot.

I'm currently in Tahiti, waiting for my bike to arrive in Chile around New Year. I'll keep you posted...
It seems reasonable clear that if your bike or the model is assembled in Brasil, it would be easier to do it there.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
