Question Buying, riding, selling motorcycle in Bolivia

Hey guys,

My girlfriend and I plan on a month trip to Bolivia in July. I would love to make it all on a motorcycle so I'm currently researching options. We're on budget and a bike around 350cc would be optimal.

Would you recommend purchasing and selling a second-hand bike or rather go with a rental? Any recommendations where to look at second-hand bikes being sold? Is a registration needed?

Do you know if it's possible to rent one of those chinese bikes and how much the price would be? Can't afford to pay 100$ or more for BMW or Honda.

I've done similar trips in India and Vietnam and so far everything went smoothly and was fairly cheap, hoping to get the same in SA.

Thanks for your answers,
Cheers!

Sounds good, nice plan. Sometimes bikes are offered through HU or other similar site. Locally bikes are fairly expensive. My son bought a chinese bike and the frame broke. Both my sons have honda, I do as well. I live in Tarija. I live here 20 years now. If I see something for you I will tell. Please be more specific. $100 for a bike cannot be serious. Would you travel on one bike? Registration is needed.

Hey yahuacua, I am planning on doing the same thing in July with a friend. How long can the registration and name change take?

I imagine he must mean paying $100+ a day to rent a motorcycle.
