Crashed v-strom and need forks

Hey all,
I am stuck in Mendoza with a square wheel, broken ribs and banana shaped forks. A van decided to pull out on me, I avoided that but couldn't ride out the tankslapper when i hit the gravel shoulder. Got highsided and flew 30yds. Nice. Managed to find a backstreet garage close by and bodged the old girl so she would ride the 1200miles back to mendoza, there is shit all in south Argentina and this hostel gives me free as medication.

Anyways, I was just wondering of any of you kind folks know of any second hand forks going for sale (05 650 strom)? My stanchions are buggered and very much out of round. I had to press the bloody springs back in so they won't be coming out again. I have found a garage who say they can re-round the wheel and machine me a new spindle. Its the forks that are proving a problem. Its pretty bloody dangerous as they have been heated and quenched to get them straight (probably making them brittle?) and she pulled at all funny angles when braking. They don't now as there is so much fork oil on the front brakes they don't do a lot.

Will post some pictures when my mate gets back from the south (they are all on his camera). We were only 900miles from the bottom of the world when the crash happened. 22,240miles in 3 months from alaska to argentina and so close, but shit happens eh?

Cheers for any help yous can offer

That's a bummer but it sounds like you are ok. I did a quick search on ebay and couldn't find anything. Why don't you try posting on Stromtrooper Forum : Suzuki V-Strom Forums - Powered by vBulletin to see if someone can help you. You could also contact Suzuki Argentina. Their webpage is suzuki.com.ar and they have a link to an email. I don't know if you also posted on Advrider but the more places you get the word out the more likely it is that someone will help you out.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
