Nine days is not enough IMO. You're going to be 2 or probably 3 days riding Lima - Huaraz, each way. The cordillera blanca north and east of Huaraz in the three remaining days will be rushed. I've been through that area several times in March/April. It's the end of the rainy season so you will have some wet generally in the afternoon.
That said, the most awesome road I've ridden is from Yungay to Yanama, then return south and west to Carhuaz. That's a two day ride in itself, but absolutely stunning mountains and not to be missed. You'll find some bumpy rock sections of the road west/north of Yanama = fun riding! There is an inexpensive hostal located in Yanama.
If you have the time, the ruins at Chavin de Huantar are worth the time to visit. Lots of ancient cultures in Peru.
