Buying US Registered Motorcycle Colombiia

I would like to share a great resource in Bogota, Colombia. I recently purchased a US Registered KLR 650 from an Aussie fellow who had bought it from a Brit who purchased it in Florida and rode to Tierra del Fuego. Nelson at Biker Stock Cl. 94c #56-49 in Cundinamarca (area of Bogota) received and looked after the bike for me until I could pick it up in Bogota (two months). In that period of time he gave it a good once over and did all of the routine maintenance the bike required. He offered a room in his home and dragged me out to lunch my first day in Bogota. He is trustworthy and was extremely resourceful in finding used parts for me. If you pass through Bogota on a big trip with a big bike …. look in on Nelson.
