Contact-Adress needed in Bolivia or Peru

Hey Folks,

soon we need new chain-kits and we have worked us through the internet with the result that we have to order it from Europe.

So we need a Post/Contact- Adress in Bolivia or Peru. Best Option Bolivia because we will be there in about 3 weeks. But Peru would be fine also.
We are just a little worried that if the package is stopped at customs or lying at a postoffice for too long, it can get expensive for the storage?!...

Does anybody know someone to whom we can send?

Thanks very very much!! And greetings from Puerto Iguazu

(By the way- dont go to the sweet hostel: it is a dirthole)

from Europe? How special can a chain be? What about the USA?
I could give you an adress close to Cusco and maybe even one in Bolivia. You can also ask your embassy.
Tell me if you still need it and what you prefer.

Contactadress needed

Hello Norschweger,

yes best option and offers are from Europe.
Some of the dealers only want to send to Paraguay, not to Bolivia.
But there is the Problem that we actually do not want to wait here in Paraguay for 2 weeks.

Unfortunately we havent found a shop yet which has 25-2 chains (or chainkits) for a freewind xf.
We would definitely prefer to buy it somerwhere on our route, but we dont expect big chances.

Right now we wrote some hostels in Asuncion if we can use their adress. Only thing is that we wanted to go there tomorrow. Waiting for the answer and ordering the chain and sending here will cost us time there.

I didnt knew that we could send to the embassys, that would be an option- thanks.

But if you know an Adress in Bolivia, that would be nice.
Thanks for your help

Ina and Demian

For the chain try Dakar Motos in Buenos Aires Tel 541147300586 email:dakarmotos@hotmail.com
For the adress in Bolivia try Bacoo hostel in La Paz (+591-2) 2280679693 Alto de la Alianza St. La Paz
info@bacoohostel.com ( and say hi from the German with the orange bike (I stayed there for a week recently and waited for a letter that was sent to the embassy)

Good luck!

Lightbulb 3 weeks?

"Best Option Bolivia because we will be there in about 3 weeks"
- I carried my chainsets always in my packs....

I lived in la Paz from 2000 to 2005 and yes I could possibly offer an address, but it might fall into the customs dark corners.
I contacted friends a minute ago, I am not sure I will get a quick response.

My advice right now is to try Nosiglia
Nosiglia Sport
contacts are on bottom.

Tell Walter Nosiglia what you need and he might get it for you in time. Or use HIS adress - I am positive he will allow it.

In Bolivia the impossible is possible - trust me.
If you do not speak spanish and need a translation, I send my mailadress to you (check your inbox and smile).

Last tip: Contact the HU comunities in Bolivia for help. When I lived there, it was just me, today there are plenty.

hey guys,

thanks very much for the help.

In the beginning we had an adress in Asuncion, but since a week did not get any response from the lady. and now its getting later and later and we really would like to go on tomorrow.

As it can last up to 4 weeks until the package arrives we decided not to wait longer and tomorrow go to ciudad del este. We have been told that there also everything is possible

We just do not want to end up with a cheap no name china produkt. We really hope we get a good 25-5 x chain (or even chainkit)

So, if this does not work i would be very glad to try bolivia. thanks again so far.

@ frank on AT: thanks for the kind transalating service. But I am very lucky, because Demian is actually born in Venezuela and speaks spanish wuhuuu
