Buying a Bike in Bogota

Hi Guys

I will arrive in Bogota at the 16 Dez. Now, on the internet it is hard to find stores to buy a bike in Bogota. Does someone knows some good stores to buy a chinese 250ccm? And how long wil it go to have all paper and a proper lincens plate?

Many Thanks and best regards

Basil

Hi Basil

There are a lot of traditional brand stores in Bogota: Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Bajaj, TVS, Royal Enfield, etc; at this moment maybe the only chinese 250 cc is the Akt Adventour (Zongshen RX3 ) but is not realiable if you are planning to leave Colombia, try to buy a Japanese. Papers and license plate take from 2-3 days.

Plenty of bike stores in Bogota.

Take a look at https://listado.tumoto.com.co/ to get an idea of prices.

If you are still interested I'm in Colombia with a travel optimized 250cc Chinese bike, model tekken. It's easier to sell inbetween travelers then selling or buying local. Great model of you want to head south since it is well known in other countries in South America.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
