Zagreb Croatia

Not long back from our yearly trip. To cover the things me and my mate wanted to see meant having to put in a couple of long days to get down to the area we wanted to explore. We opted for an overnight in Zagreb. Not usually one for big cities (always do one per trip tho) my mate booked Lobagola. This place is run by a very energetic and enthusiastic guy and his family. Clearly he/they have done an enormous amount of work to bring this place (marketed as a B&B) up to a standard that far exceeds those of most small hotels.

Situation wise it's about 10/15 mins walk from the city centre and the local attractions. Security is taken care of by a lock up garage adjacent to the hotel. Dooby (the owner and also a keen biker) gave us reccomendations for restaurants and bars to get a in afterwards.

On return we were welcomed by Dooby who from memory, we "chewed the fat" with over a number of bottles of till late. We already had a plan in mind of what we wanted to do but after a bit of local knowledge and changes of plan, we completed our trip and seen some things we would have missed.

For those who are inclined to go trail riding and go off roading, Dooby has a wealth of knowledge and experience. Will def go back.

I concur, I also visited Dooby at Lobagola in Zagreb when I was there in September 2014, and I was very impressed with his facility.

Thanks Alistair and Michael for the write up

We're more than happy to host bikers from all over the world like we already have during these 3 months since we opened.

We help with organizing repairs for bikers all over the Balkan region and farther. We're ordering and sending parts, tires you name it, wherever someone is in need.

This is also case with cyclists who travel in the region. Getting spares, or organizing boxes and crating the bicycles for your flight back to home is a normal thing for us.

Garage is well equipped with tools, and all other tiny things you could maybe need for continuation of your trip. Tire repair shop is 200 m from us (not that I wan't you to have any flat tires ).

We have contacts with all big stores for motorcycle parts and clothing in Croatia, so if you need something arranged before your arrival just let us know.

Stop by at least to say hi, cold is always in the fridge

ride on

Add me to the list of Doobie fans, so to speak. My rear tire shredded itself apart in a tiny village in Croatia. I found this thread, Doobie emailed me back immediately and arranged to have the exact tire I wanted shipped out to right where I was in a day, at very little cost. Unbelievable - like that, problem was solved.

He's a beacon for bikers in the Balkans..

Yes Dooby, I really want to stay at your place and meet you (.. how could I resist?!)

Expect to see us towards the middle of next month. If I had to pick a precise date /timeframe, then I would say around 10-12th June.

I'll book-up through your website [nice site btw ], or we can e-mail each other.

best.

Hi Keith & Ellen,

Thanks for your kind words, it would be nice to meet both of you

No probs for the date, whenever you're ready. And if you need any info just write here or send a PM.

For booking, please go through website, it's much easier for me, because I run a bicycle touring company also, so to many emails create chaos .

Looking forward to host you at Lobagola B&B,

ride on
Dooby

PS Also check the website in a couple of days there will be some motorcycle related news announced

+1 to Dooby's fan club . I needed a new set of tires when going through Croatia, and Dooby replied instantly helping me to find a great tire shop, where the owner was very helpful and provided great service at a very nice price as well.

Thanks Dooby, really appreciate your help!
