crossing Myanmar Feb/Mar 2016

Hi!
We, Tobi and Lydia, are reaching the boarder of Myanmar soon. For that reason we are looking for (a group of) travellers that are planning to cross the border from Thailand to Myanmar towards India in the end of February/beginning of March.

We have already contacted some agencies and the offer from Gulliver was the most convincing for us. This agency offers a 14 day trip that includes a special program.

The cost amount USD$ 4620 in total including an escort vehicle (optional; it is also possible to unbook the escort vehicle if the group would agree to offer the guide as well as the official a seat in one’s car; in doing so the group could save USD$ 1760).

The cost could be calculated as followed:

2 vehicles: 2310$ (1430$).
3 vehicles: 1540$ (953$).
4 vehicles: 1155$ (715$).
….

Also we can stay overnight in our vehicle! (All necessary permissions will be provided)
We look forward traveling with great people and awesome adventures in Myanmar.

If you are interested, have questions or other ideas please contact us via email: tobi.dietrich [at] gmx dot net
Cannot wait hearing from you, after all, anticipation is half the fun!

Dear all,

For our upcoming Myanmar overland crossing we would like to provide you a sum of information we have received from Gulliver:

Date for our crossing:
We try to fix the date to start our trip during the first week of March (29th February – 6th March). Depending on Gulliver and our preferences we can fix a date before and while making the reservation.

Visa:
Each person individually needs to apply for a Visa before we start our trip. After some research, we found out that it is best not to mention to the Myanmar embassy that you want to cross Myanmar over land while applying for a visa because there are cases in which it caused some difficulties.

Overall Cost:

2 Vehicle: 2180 $ (1300$) + 250$ per Vehicle
3 Vehicle: 1453 $ (866$) + 250$ per Vehicle
4 Vehicle: 1095 $ (650$) + 250$ per Vehicle
(Gulliver will sent us a detailed invoice and account details, once we confirm the exact number of participants.)
For the booking we need to leave a deposit (as prepayment) of 50%. We would suggest that we each transfer our partial payment directly to Gulliver’s account.

Max. number of vehicles: 6

Overnight stay:
It is possible to stay in our own vehicles overnight, but in some occasions we will need to pay a small parking fee.

Escort car:

We can offer the official and the guide a seat in each of our vehicle which will save us overall costs. For the most comfort, it would be great (and if it is possible due to available space in your vehicle) if we change through the seats provided for the official and the guide.

Food and Cooking: For your meals, each can choose if you prefer to dine in local restaurants or enjoy street food. Also, you can prepare your own food if you would like to do so.

We hope that this summary provides you with helpful information. Just drop us an email for any questions, suggestions or any better offers. If you are interested to fix the trip with Gulliver and cross Myanmar with a fun group of travellers, please let us know on mandatory basis until 31st December 2015, so that we can arrange the booking.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kind regards, Tobi and Lydia

Hi,
we already booked with BurmaSenses a trip at the 10th of March. We are two people on 1 motorbike. If you join our tour the price might be arround 1000$ or less. But not sure if they also do cars? Maybe you can ask them... The guy is called Wing and he seems to be very professional, he also replies very fast (burmasenses.com) It's a 9 day trip with all permits, accomondation and customs includet. Breakfast is included and a escort 4x4 car...

We leave to Myanmar on 15 March. Anyone wants to join?

Hi all,

We contacted a tour company, Burma Senses, and they mentioned that all of their groups leaving early March were full.

They gave us a new date: 15 March 2016 !! THE DATE HAS BEEN CHANGED AND IS NOW 20 MARCH

A number of travellers have already confirmed, but we are still looking for other travellers to join us. We have opened a new thread for this tour group: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...367#post528325

Anyone wants to join?

Happy travels!

Peter and Leonie
