Website to answer most FAQ about overlanding

Hi all,
I've put together a website to help newcomers get started at planning their overlanding trip. It's got several maps with info about countries and routes on all continents, focused on people traveling with their own vehicle. It shows:
- what country can be entered or not
- which borders are open or closed
- the main/usual transcontinental routes (very rough outline) and their difficulty and length (estimate)

plus some info that's useful in the planning stage:

- climate maps (rain/temperature)
- carnet countries - not the official blurb, the reality
- some visa information - focused on French nationals but most of it applies to everybody (e.g., visas that you must buy in your home country)

All of the information can be found in other places too, but there it's all in one place. I hope it can be of use for people who are a bit lost in the first days when trying to make sense of all this. For more seasoned travelers and precise questions, the hubb is a goldmine.

Page in English:

Overland Aventure

This is not a commercial site, just a personal project, and of interest to our community, so I think it's ok to post here. Comments are welcome !

safe riding,
Laurent

Laurent

Awesome site bro!
Love the interactive map.
Its faster than google map in many ways.
Love the benchmark distance that's linked to each route.
God bless and keep inspiring!
Will keep an eye out for the English version of the book.

Thanks.

Myanmar: the situation looks like China, so still closed off for all intent and purposes. The road is there, but it's "HorizonsVeryLimited".
Vietnam: Insh Allah ! (means: I'll believe it when people will start report firsthand about it)

A very helpful website! These route visualisations are a great piece of work!

Please consider that currently the border between nigeria and cameron currently counts as closed, an verify should come in the next hours/days.

Here you will find the most recent informations about:

http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...closed-77871-3

The question is, how you plan to keep your informations updated in the future. To keep yourself informed means to use some time each week, studying blogs and travel communities like the HuBB.

Overall your website is currently very helpful to get en overview about carnet and visa situations, the routes and the weather. Thank you for your work Do a plan for keep them updated.

I will write an article about your website in the new year, what should give you more visitors.
