Trying to get a visa for India for a UK national

Hi Guys,

Has anybody applied and successfully got a visa for India in the last couple of months? (December 2021 or January 2022) I have been trying to apply for a visa (not an e-vasa these are not available for UK residents).

Looking for a 1 month tourist visa to go in February 2022 and a not getting any response.

I tried to get a visa on my UK PP a week ago in Perth Western Australia.
In spite of what is stated on the India visa website, the only tourist visas they are offering at present are 30 day single entry e-visas.
They are valid from the day of issue (!) not the day of entry, and are not extendable.

I had a good old bitch at the woman at the visa service office, since I had just driven 700kms to try to get a visa that wasn't even available.
She phoned the Indian Consul while I was with her, and they confirmed, yes, only 30 day visas, valid from date of issue and not extendable.
You could say I was mildly unhappy.

Business visas may be a different matter, I don't know.
Bollox to 'em.

A friend managed to get an appointment at their agency office in Cardiff at the beginning of January but then decided not to go, they were offering 30 day tourist visas only and you had to make an appointment and attend to apply.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
