Hi Everyone,

I am still devastated that my dream overland trip from the UK to Cape Town was cancelled due to covid. I was a month away from leaving back in March 2020 then boom! gone.

I live in Cape Town and have got a month starting December 2022 for a consolation trip.

I have decided to head through Namibia and Zambia as far as Malawi and maybe beyond. Namibia I will travel straight through as it is on my doorstep and I can take a shorter trip there. I had planned on heading back through Botswana but my whole plane is in it's early stages.

My questions are:

1. Does anyone have recent experience of crossing these boarders and the cost involved
2. Are there any must see places along the way
3. Any good camp sites

I am riding a Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro and might be alone, depends if one of my mates will come along.

Thanks

Join www.4x4community.co.za - lots of excellent advice there.

For some ideas have a look at Un “ocho” en Africa / An “eight” in Africa for our biggest trip in the region - Nairobi to Cape Town and back. Some of the posts may give you some ideas.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
