Your route sounds okay, lots of stuff to see

Just giving you a heads up on a scam by some transito cops in Altamira the town right next to Tampico on the north side of the airport as you come in on Mex 180. These guys ride their beat in the main street on Hond bikes with no license plates .
It seems that Tamaulipas has a rule on the books which states that motorcycles may ony travel in the right lane on multilane streets and highways. Passing is permitted.
Oooookaaay'... so early last month I was cruising into town at a good legal clip in the left lane passing all the slugs ,buses and right turn makers when a transito cop on a bike motions me to pull over. The first thing he sez was that I was NOT speeding but I was breaking the law by staying in the passing lane, where I would need to be any way to make the left turn coming up at the exit for bypassing downtown. He even showed me the rule in his book of rules. And the fine would be $30, and hand over license por favor, to be collected manana when paying the fine. No way was I going to give him the license and waste time. As you can gues the conversation turned to options of on the spot payment , in which case $8 would suffice. Then I asked for a receipt of the ticket but he was not going to give me one, of course not , it was a dummy and the money stays in his pocket. So, I get out me digital camera ask to see the ticket and take a picture of it. Now I have his name, badge number and the ticket info which clearly states that one colour goes to the cop, one to the office and one to the ''infractor''
i Di no a la corupcion ! There will be a letter of complaint going to the DF ..... maybe it will do a bit of good....maybe
