I was very closed to get badly hit by a GB reg bike today. That I met on the wrong side of the road.....
A group of 25 BMW 1250 GS driving without any care.
As if they where alone on the roads.

The event is put on by a company called Endless Ways, and the event is "O Caminho mais Longo," (The longest way), Im not usually a fan of "organised" events, but this gives the trip an excuse (always need a good excuse

), and a purpose, even if its weak.
I dont think its anything hard core, im not interested in doing hard core off roading, but I also dont want to be tarred with the "Overlander" brush either as I dont have a roof top tent, fridge, house battery(fill in blank here) or the generally expensive farkles that appear to grace many of the overland vehicles we see in North America.I put the Hilux together to take me to amazing places, not to do amazing things.
This is on my dime, and being done my way, likely with a bunch of errors or the wrong equipment/shoes/sandals/vehicle ect,

but I dont give 2 hoots! you can beat to death the reasons you are not ready to go yet, but for me, the one thing this pandemic has taught me is simply not to wait or waste time until all the stars are lines up.
I figured I never got 100% in school, and in some cases 50% was good enough to pass, so you pass and figure out the next bit when you get there, rinse and repeat.
