Poland to eastern block

Looking for and interesting 7 day ride east from Wroclaw and back. Aiming for Romania but friend has an interest in any former eastern block history.
Any route suggestions. Or destination ideas

If you're interested primarily in riding/nature/scenery, head down to the High Tatras in Slovakia, maybe take in Zakopanie on the way. (My bucket list has Morskie Oko lake on it, YMMV.)

If you're interested in fascinating Eastern Block stuff, head to Lviv. Then maybe play around in Ukrainian Carpathia, see how far you can get before you have to turn back.

Krakow is worth a stopover and on the way in any case.

There is an old airbase, Zeljava Air base, on the border of Croatia and Bosnia. Very cool place for airplane hangers built into the mountain.

Ukraine is worth visiting, especially if you're a fan of dual-sport and trail riding. Carpathian mountains are nice. You can also check TransEuroTrail (TET) if you'd need a good trail with that "dual-sport" route across Western part of Ukraine.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
