North Wales to Obzor, Bulgaria

Thoughts on routes to coastal Bulgaria for next year? A friend of mine lives in BG during the summer and was thinking of riding out taking a week with the missus flying out, spending a week together then spending a week coming back

It'll be my first continental trip though have done UK trips of a 1000 miles or so.

For outbound was considering France-Italy-Greece-Bulgaria with some offroad if possible.
Return leg Bulgaria-Serbia-Hungary-Austria-Germany-France.

Thoughts, advice please. Ferry or Eurotunnel? Places to avoid etc

Thanks Dylan

Eurotunnel every time.

Check out:
Dolomites
Transfăgărășan
Transalpina
Durmitor

Avoid Macedonia unless you have Green Card insurance.

Hi, I've had 4 bike trips to Bulgaria and would suggest from Italy to Slovenia, Croatia (Coast and inland), Montenegro, Albania (some good trail riding), Greece, Bulgaria.
Returning via Romania.
wildman makes some good suggestions.

Andy

Hi Dylan, Whereabouts in North Wales are you? I'm in Conwy with parents who live in Bulgaria (cant remember the name of the town). I'm considering heading over there next year with the girlfriend (both on bikes) but it depends on the amount of leave I can wrestle out of work. It would be good to meet up some time and chat about routes etc, Matt.

Hi Eskimo, I'm in sunny Wrecsam. That would be good, always nice to meet other riders.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
