Kazakhstan, Tajikistan Motorcycle Route Proposal

My wife and me made up our mind, we will explore Central Asia still this summer.

Unfortunately on this ride we will not be overlanding and we will only have three weeks available. We will arrange our bikes locally and start/end in Bishkek. We will have about 3 weeks to explore the region. Sure we want to make it to the Pamir, however, it is very hard to for us to put together a nice route.

Could you help with your advice and suggestions on which locations to visit and which routes to take?
Challenging routes are very ok and appreciated!

Thanks for your advice.

Regards,
Wauschi

Sasco,

thank you so much for sharing!
What an excellent route with the POIs clearly pointed out. This is more than I expected.

We will be in the same region at the same time! I propose we stay in touch, I owe you at least a .

However, your route is almost passing our home in Graz.
You are welcome to stay over night on your way to or back from the middle east!

Cheers,
Wauschi

P.S.: My research produced a detour through the Wakhan Valley along the border of Afghanistan, which you might also want to consider for your tour!

Great post and interesting reply from SASCO. I'll be in that area of Kyrgyzstan and the Pamir in the first 2 weeks of June. If theres involved count me in!!
Is that detour you mention via Khorog, Ishkahim and Vrang? Seems like the more interesting route rather than sticking to the M41.
Last year I camped at Song Kul. What a place!

YES, exactly.

And I've put Song Kul on the list.

At the moment it looks like we are doing the route mid-end of June. We are getting prepared for CW24, 25, 26.

Greetings,
Wauschi

Embassies will err on the side of caution, however I believe the areas of Luhansk and Donetsk in the far east of the country are the only conflict zones to avoid. My planned route (not for a couple of years admittedly) takes me from Kursk to Hlukhiv and on to Kyiv. This should be far enough north to avoid any hot spots. Things could change of course but that's as of today!

Yes I am taking Wakhan Valley, just google resisted to mark it.
I'll be passing Graz in a couple of days going to Wien to get my Visa for Uzbek.

Nice route and follows a lot of the places I want to do when I ride home to UK from KZ. I see you've planned it out on google maps, how did you do that? I tried and after a limited number of waypoints it stopped letting me input them. I roughed out a route on motoplaner.de but as of now I'm still making notes on a spreadsheet!

By the way if you guys are passing Almaty on your travels feel free to call in for a and somewhere to stay overnight. You can PM me on here.
