Holland to Australia - migration plans - route planning

Hi,

I'm quit new here, but found horizons unlimited trough the web, and while visiting the meeting in south of Germany some weeks ago this seems to be the place to find people who can help me with my dream :-)

I'm 25 years old and planning to migrate to Australia from Holland. My dream is to travel to it by bike and stay the night in hostels, local people (couch surfing) and my tent. My current experience is with a 3 week travel trough France with my lite-bike full of cargo and a passenger on the back.

I'm currently working on two things; budget and making the route. This topic is meant for input from you that can help me.

• My first point is budget, should 10.000 be en of? I suspect that the trip can take up to 6 months.
• My second point is the route. The shortest way to Indonesia is trough the middle east. But things don't seem to be that nice there looking at the TV. Is this also the case for travelers? Or are it just specific regions you cant cross. Other option is trough Russia - china. Or are there other options (or none)
