5 months in 2019 India and Russia

Ok,
So first time for real adventure riding. I do ride a lot well each day and always on holiday. So not scared of being on the bike for some time.

Well here we go, I have a unique opertunity to take 5 months off work on full pay, so thought I'd take the bike and girlfriend for a little ride.

I have always wanted to visit India and Russia.
China was always a thought too but seems like a lot of hassle and cost so planning to give it a miss.

Current thought are to ship bike out to India and travel back through Pakistan Afghanistan Tajikistan Uzbekistan and Russia filly a little time around Europe and back to the UK.

Was looking for any thoughts or advice or things to see and do not miss etc...

As I say once in a life time so want to make the most of it.

We are not rich so would be on a budget but that will be a big budget for us.

Well your turn to wade in.

Thanks

Guy

Afghanistan is off the menu but you can team up with others to shre the price of a guide through the corner of China that joins Pakistan to Central Asia. Timing is also important due to the monsoon in India which can make things there unpleasant, starting in the spring would be best..

Yeah I am looking with interest
But I'm going through Russia not round the bottom of Europe.

But will look as some of the technicalities will still be applicable.

Yeah Mark

We intend hitting India in April and getr9ng back into Europe September time.

Yeah would love China but if I cannot get with a group the cost would be outrageous....

Yeah Afganistan does appear dangerous but visas still possible and on 12 months time the world m9gjtbe different anyway.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
