Smile South America - Dos Gringos y Dos Motos on Two 150cc Hondas

New guy Joel here. I recently returned from a heck of a bike trip around South America with a mate. I got a lot of useful info from HUBB and advrider before the journey started so I thought it’s only fair to give something back.

My friend Raph and I left the UK last April and flew to Chile. Raph had never ridden before but he managed to pass his bike test just in time before the flight left. In Santiago we waited for his license to arrive, bought two 150cc Honda XR150L bikes, named them Kenny and Xena then hit the road. Chaos ensued and I don’t regret a single moment of it!

I’ve made a ten min vid:

If you enjoyed that and want to know more please have a snoop at: https://dosgringosydosmotos.wordpress.com/ for lots of words and pictures.

Sorry to just post links but the blog is nicely formatted and complete. Please feel free to move/remove if required.

Thanks for your help HUBB!

Ride safe,

Over and out,

Joel

Very nice video and awesome blog!
We're planning a similar, but hopefully longer, trip.
How did you like the bikes? Any complaints, improvements or other thoughts??

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
