Argentina

My wife and I are 1 month into our trip starting from Buenos Aires. We are learning as we go and would like to thank all those contributors to the HUBB that have helped make our dream a reality.
We are riding 2 KTM 690's. My wife is 5'4" so with the help of Martin at Torqueracing her bike has been lowered significantly. You may have seen it at the UK HUBB meet this year.
The trip so far Buenos Aires to Puerto Iguazú (brilliant places). Then on to Carlos Pellegrine in the Argentine Pantanal. 80km of sand and mud which as novice off road riders took us 8 hours (4x4's take 4hours? ? ?) Numpties. But we made it thanks to local help. It seems with out our knowledge the garage at the turn off to R40; phoned our Posada owner as every one seemed to know two English bikes were due in town, to say we had stopped for fuel. As we hadn't turned up after 6 hours (we stopped regularly for breaks, lunch and to pick up the bikes, oops) Hugo drove out, meet us on the sandy road 12 km from town and offered to take our paniers and camping equipment (yes we have to much luggage; numpties). I can only assume not many riders come this way as people were stopping to take our pictures? Anyway we had a fantastic few days seeing the wild life (monkeys, capabaya? Cayman). Then after 3 great days, 80 km out on "the easy road" mud, ripio but only a few km of arena\ sand!
We went on to Mira Mar an inland salt lake with pink flamingo. Then Cordoba and on to a small town south of Mendoza. We are currently trying to find a power hose to clean the bikes, paniers, jackets of the sticky mud we have accumulated. We are here for a few repairs to the bikes, then some tours to the wine houses are in order for internal well-being

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
