Update

www.bikergirl.me<< for all backdated posts

So a month later and I'm finally ready to start posting. Sorry for the delay!

I was originally thinking about posting up all of my old posts on here so that by the time I left again for Europe you would have caught up with all my adventures. But it seems preparations were more complicated than I thought, and now I'm out of time before I leave to start riding again (2 weeks).

With that in mind I'm going to skip backdating and just start posting on here as things unfold. You can check out all my stories from last year on www.bikergirl.me

Update:

Flight booked today. After six months of saving and preparations I'll be back in Budapest on the 18th of April to resume riding in Europe. Hurrah!

Since I flew home to Australia in October, I've had a couple of setbacks. The most painful being the miscommunication of my bike's insurance. Without me knowing, my insurance ran out and my bike was automatically deregistered by Germany. I was all the way over here and my bike was all the way over in Budapest, alone and unridable and there was nothing I could do anything about it

So after six months of straddling three different languages, logistics and legal systems and getting absolutely nowhere, I have one choice left: fly back to Budapest and wing it like I did last year.

Here's to hoping I can find a mechanic to road worthy my bike and a friendly Hungarian to register it in their name.

Stay tuned I guess. If it's a flop, at least I told you so first.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
