For SALE, 2001 Chevy AWD Astro V6 anywhere in Central/South America

Hello. So we have a Camper Van for sale. We bought it in L.A. from 3 Berth Campervan rental USA.

Please see earlier post for photos - http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...01-south-79719

Chevrolet Astro Converted Cargo Van, All Wheel Drive (AWD), 2001, V6, 230,000 miles but very well maintained.

Automatic with cruise control and 3 gear settings for steep/rocky roads.
Full spec (general) can be found here: Chevrolet Astro - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Comes with
  • Double Coleman Propane Stove
  • 2x camping chairs
  • Cooking utensils
  • (various pots, pans, frying pan, cups, bowls, plates, cutlery, sharp knifes)
  • Colemans Refridgerator
  • Jack, tyre iron, jump cables, spare wheel
  • Detachable velcro mosquito net
  • Inverter (2 sockets - battery is good enough to run our small fan all night)
  • Fan (essential for a good night's sleep!!)
  • USB connectors, wires, leads, AUX cable - for MP3 player
  • Surround sound - decent radio/CD player
  • 10L jerry can (essential for long trips off the beaten track)
  • Baseball bat, rape alarm, LED light stunner, flare (we never used them but just incase)
  • Windscreen sun reflector
  • Immobliser (steering lock)
  • 2 x keys
  • Memory foam matress topper
  • Bed sheets
  • Comforter pillows
  • Sink, watertank, drain (out below van)

Full spec on these vans can be found in the link above, from the original owner. Ours is fitted the same as the pictures you will see on their website on the link above.

It is a All Wheel Drive beast of a van not very economical for short town trips but very powerful and Ok on long rides 22Mpg.

It was called Sunshine and has been serviced every 5000 miles since birth by the rental company we bought it of because it was in its interest to keep it in good condition.

We are the second owner and have been very impressed with its reliability.
Touch wood we have never had a problem. We had new brakes and tyres fitted in San Diego before we started our trip further south. We renamed it Thelma and have just renamed it Thorma after it got us through the worst rock/mud roads in Northern Guatemala no problem.

We love it because it's small enough to fit in a regular parking space and doesn't necessarily look like a camper (often we are charged a 'car' price for things like toll roads and ferries) but plenty big enough for a comfortable road trip.

We have saved a lot of money parking on roads or next to beaches of lakes unseen by others as sleeping in our van.

We are looking to sell this trusty, good looking steed in Bolivia, Chile, North Argentina, Paraguay, South Brazil or Uruguay, in March 2015 (or earlier if we get a good offer). It will be the last thing we do before we fly back to the UK and have no real plans. Unfortunately we can't take it back to London with us so have to get rid by mid March.

Price: $5500 ono.

We will except less as we need to sell it at the end. Ideal for people traveling back up to the USA because the Title belongs there. You would be a owner of a American registered title and Van.

Please forward all enquiries to Fletchtommy@gmail.com

Thanks for reading. Tom and Phili

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
