Plodd the truck after UK to Thailand

Hi,

Plodd (as we call her) is a 1996 ex Avon and Summerset Police prisoner carrying truck, we bought it in 2013 and converted her in to an Overlander vehicle, we then traveled across Europe and Asia (Plodd - A Trip of a Lifetime) it is the most amazing vehicle. Our plan now is to get her ready in Thailand for a return trip (back to Europe) starting next April/May 2017.
The best advice we were given was to buy a accident damaged caravan (as new as possible) and use all the inside to convert the truck, a great bit of advice.

Attached are 4 photo's of Plodd, first one is when the inside was almost complete, second and third are Plodd parked up in the Overlanders stop (Plodd Stop) in Thailand and the four is in the UK just before we set off on our trip in 2014.

man thats a nice rig, good work there, and amply demonstrates that you don't need an off road lorry and the finances of an oil baron to go on a serious trip, fabulous

Hi Moggy 1998,

Thanks for your kind remarks:

I have just ammended the year Plodd was manufactured it is not a 1976 but a 1996 (21 years old), and it is looking like she may be seen in Europe sometime in 2017 or if not then North America that is if we can find someone to ship her from Thailand.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
