thanks, I'm sure it'll be OK. I'll post here how it went.
You Russian-speaking guys manage to work your way around bureaucracy with ease, whereas for us it takes a lot longer. Last time we got caught in a forbidden border zone, and at the end of the day we were invited for lunch by the Tadjik soldiers, but maybe I'm pushing my luck.
I guess it's the same for non-French-speaking guys in Western Africa : it's got a bad reputation for unpleasant border crossings but I've never had problems small-talking my way through the hurdles.
