Hi, Ferdi.
I will extract the points from my Nav and will put with short description a bit later. At least you have time until next spring ) And yes, spring (mid-late) is the best time to be there...

Hello Rinat,

thank you very much in advance. Until next spring it will be a long time - yes. Which date (Gregorian or Julian calendar) usually is mid-late spring in Kazachstan on Caspian Sea level in the west?

Warm greetings
Ferdi

Hi,
I thought i already replied on this thread )
Sorry. The best time to Vizit west Kazakhstan is May i think. It is almost warm there and not very wet as it could be in the beginning of April for instance. Since the most of nice places are out of tarmac is is better to be sure that you wouldn't stuck)
AS it was mentioned in the beginning of thread most Interesting part is Mangystau area.
Here is the track what I used during my 4wd vehicle trip

https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?h...5175781215&z=9.

You can see some POIs on map. From my side I can mark (names as it is, you can google it) next POIs:
Sor tuzbair
Dolina Zamkov Ayrakty-Shomanay (castle valley)
Gora Sherkala (Sherkala mountain)
Dolina Sharov (Orbs valley)
Zhygylgan / Upavshaya Zemlya (Fallen earth)
Boszhira
As you can see from the map, the roads mostly ground/paved.
If you will plan to go from Dossor (Kulsary) to Aktobe, don’t use the road that google will show you. This is differently longer way that through Uralsk (yes, back to Russian Border) and then to Aktobe.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
