Insurance
Hi all,
I promised I've searched the HUBB and Google too for an answer but nothing that is recent or that I'd trust.
I need an idea of how much car insurance will be for a car (everything I found on here was for a motorcycle) for the following countries
- Iran
- Turkmenistan
- Uzbekistan
- Tajikistan
- Kyrgyzstan
- Kazakhstan
- Russia
- Mongolia
If it makes a difference the vehicle will be a three year old Toyota Landcruiser. Are they all available at the border, and any tips or advice regarding insurance. Will only be in each country for a week or so, it's a quick tour to Mongolia and back, starting in UAE.
I appreciate any input.
EDIT - I found this website Driving | Caravanistan which does seem to have information.
Is this still current and correct?
Quote:
At the border you will be paying a sizeable amount of money: fuel compensation, road tax, obligated insurance, immigration card and entry tax. The amount changes depending on your vehicle: 150$ for a 4WD Toyota, 255$ for a Land Rover, up to several hundred dollars for a minivan.
