Road Rider is a good shop ... one hour SOUTH of San Francisco in San Jose, but for lower prices I'd check out Cycle Gear in San Fran.

Cycle Gear are a HUGE chain, dozens of stores nationwide. The San Fran store is fairly well stocked and what you'll find are their "In House" brands BILT and Sedici, which rather dominate the landscape. But lately Cycle Gear are stocking traditional big name brands too. But the BILT and Sedici are much less expensive.

These In House brands used to really suck in years past, but last few years the quality of everything has improved quite a bit. Most items are between 20% and 60% cheaper than so called name brand gear ... and often is just as good.

I especially like some of their Mesh and vented gear and the Bilt and Sedici helmets aren't bad at all at around $150 to $200 vs. $600 to $800 for a Shoei or Arai

Their BILT and Sedici boots still need improvement IMO, but who knows? You may find a good pair.

If you want to compare Cycle Gear's stuff with more high end gear (like Klim,
Rev' It, Dainese, Alpinestar, BMW) be sure to check out Scuderia (Duboce & Valencia) in the Mission fist. (6 blocks from Cycle Gear)

Also, drop by the BMW dealer, also in that neighborhood.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
