Cocktails in Calgary
This could be the big one, who really knows the effect that a surfiet of chuck waggons, cow thingies and cordite could have on innocent consumers of the local brew, do the looming mountains highten the experience? or has it rockall to do with it. Don't all stampede at once to postulate an answer but leave it until after the results of a proposed liquidly based experiment at a location and time to be decided by local HUBBers ideally between the 8th of June and the 16th of June in Calgary. All welcome, the wearing of academic caps and gowns or nuns outfits should only be considered if incarceration is not a problem. Ride safe.

Should be no problem. You just need:
1) Find and buy a bike - just get a bill of sale, can be hand written
2) Get Insurance
3) Take proof of insurance (fax or copy of temp insurance slips) to Registry (they are run privately in Canada so just google "Registry"
4) Go in with bill of sale, and insurance slips, and get a license plate and registration.
5) Pop the plate on your bike and you are good to go.
I recently did the reverse (Canadian in the US) and found there is a lot more red tape here in California then Alberta. Buyer beware though, make sure there are no leins on the bike, its not like the US where the seller will have a title, you have to check yourself. I would only check if spending more than $5,000.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
