Lightbulb Archies Camping

Attached is a zip file for July 2022s' last version of Archies camping files which were on his site in the public domain.
Archie has retired see this post.

I appreciate this version is out of date and you can buy the Archies app from the playstore.
Personally, I'd like to thank Archies for having provided this resource. Happy retirement!

I've always had problems with Archies going back many years - just can't get it to run on my Europe / North America default sat nav (a succession of iPhones). A pity really as it seems more comprehensive than what we used back in the summer (a combination of Pitchup, Alan Rodgers, Google and luck). They sent us on some serious wild goose chases or just didn't work when you needed them (at the side of the road).

The Archies Google Earth database has been loading on my laptop now for the best part of half an hour (I wanted to see if it listed the campsites we did find / use) and if it takes that long on a high spec office laptop it's going to be useless on a phone in the middle of nowhere. It ends up easier (and did) simply to find a patch of suitable ground where you're unlikely to be bothered until the morning and forego the pleasures of a commercial site. A pity really, and it may of course be me or my incompatible hardware, but my experience has not been that positive.

Talking During all the long years I used Archies .csv file

I've never had a single issue with it on any of my garmins.
I did create my own tent icon as I did not like the green 'A'.
So Bob, I'm going to state the obvious...
Sit down...
It's you

At an 'affordable' rate no doubt.

It probably is me. No doubt it's so simple a two year old could do it. In which case I'll get my two year old granddaughter on it over Christmas.

Hi Toyark. Any chance to have this file available once again? I was planning this summer's route and to my dismay found the news about Archies campings database - which was an amazing help for the last many-many years.
As an old-school GPS vs phone user, the POI database was a lifesaver many a times.
I tried to download the attached file but it seems not available (or I'm missing something here...).
Thanks a lot for your help.

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
