Hi John
Good advise from Steve.
Bookingcom works in Morocco like anywhere else.
Since in moroccain guesthouses accomodations are quite cheap I normaly proceed as follows:
I serach via bookingcom, select a place an check the quotings on tripadvisor. Then call them up an make the reservation by phone. So the host has no commission to pay an you will be most wellcome as guest.
Only in rather expensive places like four or five star hotels we do like this:
I look at bookingcom, choose myself a place and then check the quotings in tripadvisor. If there are plenty of rooms available in the hotel I've decided upon, I call them directly For reservation. Normaly you get a better price than via bookingcom due to direct reservation. Bookingcom asks for approx. 15% comission.
If the hotel does not give you a better price, tell them you may book via bookingcom and than it works. Since they don't loose money while you can save some, everybody is happy
