N9 Marrakech-Ouarzazate next week?

Is there any chance to ride N9 Marrakech-Ouarzazate safe by motorcycle around the 25th of december? The cold is no problem for me and my wife but if there is ice or ice spots on the road we do not take the risk.

Anders.

Definitely snow a day or two back, see https://www.facebook.com/noureddine.said.3?fref=ts

No snow in the mountain forecast for the next six days, and the Moroccan authorities are pretty hot at snow and ice clearance, so by 25 December probably clear but who knows.

Thank you Tim! It sounds to me like a few days without rain or snow the road will dry up and water stop to flow out on the road and freeze? Usually dry air in winter?

I will check the weather forecast regulary until we get to Marrakech.

Anyone who know a good weather forecast site for this stretch? I found as much as 5-6 degrees difference in temperature indication between different weather sites for the same place.

We found it a bit difficult to find a safe road information in Marrakech so we went to Tiznit instead and rode Tiznit-Tafraute-Agadir and it was a very beautiful ride!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
