Best road from Demnate to Cathedrale imsfrane

Hello !

I'm in Ouarzazate, and I will drive tomorrow the road R307 to Demnate. Then, before heading north (I will take the highway at Beni Mellal), I would like to go visit the Cathedrale Imsfrane. Is the road R302 paved, or is it gravel road (and in which condition) ? I see 2 options : south by the R302 (indicated gravel road on the Michelin map) via Aït Blal and Zaouiat Ahansal, or north by the R304 (paved), R306 then R302 via Azilal and Tilouguite.

Alternatively I will go the Cascades d'Ouzoud, which way would you proposed from Demnate ?

I prefer paved roads if possible, or at least good gravel roads (my bike is a NC700X, not made for tough offroad). Not sure of the status of gravel roads after the recent rains.

Thanks in advance for your advices.

Jil

The R302 is paved to Tilougite then good gravel. Did the loop last week it was cold! But stunning. Campervans make it up there so nothing too bad

Finally I haven't made this road, but I've been to Cascades d'Ouzoud instead, nice place ! The road R307 between Ouarzazate and Demnate, in the middle of Atlas, is really beautiful, but avoid it if the weather isn't great sun : the road becomes a track sometimes, during several kilometers in total (damages due to heavy rains I think). And it is vertiginous (max altitude 2600m).
