UK to UAE

I am starting a job in the UAE in November and would like to ride the bike from the UK, I have a month to achieve it.

I think the only viable route is to get to KSA and cross to UAE. I haven't started looking at how to get to KSA yet until I find out more of the possibility of entering it.

I know the rules constantly change. Has anyone done this route?

Thanks

I think the only possible route for this is:

EU -> Turkey -> Iran (this might be hard for US/UK/CANADA citizens) -> Iraq -> KSA -> UAE

Or you can ship your bike somewhere closer ofc.

I am maybe planning on doing something similar next fall depends. One month for this trip would be seriously rushing it. I am planning on doing it in 3-6 months...

The Iraq - Saudi border is not open to tourists, so you would need to add Jordan in there between Iraq and Saudi.

You can currently ship from Iran to UAE, but I think passenger services are still suspended.

What about Kuwait? I've read that some people have been successful crossing that way.

Iraq to Kuwait works, read a recent trip report

Kuwait to Iraq does NOT work. Seen a recent post from German overlanders which were not allowed to leave Kuwait to Iraq.

Basically this are snap shots. The situation might look different in a view weeks.

Yes, good point, that has been proven to work recently as bernd mentions.

Very Interested in hearing what info you dig out there! I am also planning a UK to UAE trip late september early october. Initially was thinking of sending the motorcyle by ship from Turkey(Iskenderun) to Saudi (Diba) but the company is not responding to my emails and their usual ship is no longer operational on that ferry line. I would love to go through Iran to BandarAbbas and then ship trip to UAE but keep hearing negative info for british passport holderds. There is a vlogger that goes by the name WildLens by Abrar (dual german/ pakistan national) who is going through his return leg (Germany- Pakistan- Germany) going through turkey, iran, irak, kuwait...very interesting videos he has of border crossings

Planning a similar trip but Turkey-Iran-UAE-Saudi-Qatar. I will travel on my Brazilian passport. Worried about the reports of no passenger ferry from Iran to UAE, I hope this gets sorted as we get closer to the World cup.

You have an option of riding to germany, theres a fellow who sends motorcycles often to Kuwait and UAE via container ferry. To Kuwait its roughly $500-$600 for a motorcycle

Actually Iran shouldn't be a problem, though you will need a CdP and to pay for a guide.

On the HUBB Facebook group there is a traveller starting in UAE soon and confident that the ferry takes tourists again. If that turns out true then the problem is already solved.

Bah, I need to read the whole thread. The guides are required for people travelling on UK, American and Canadian passports only.
