Normal riding: both fuel taps L + R to the ON position and the screw tap closed (in the drawing 1=closed, 2,3,4=ON)
Reserve: same as above, only the screw tap is opened also. Just remember to switch to reserve before the engine dies, else you can have difficulties getting it started.
For the connections, I'll check it tomorrow at the bike, but ik think it's like this:
2 ---4
1 ---3
and in the line 1---3 is a T junction to the pump 5.
