So I made a few photos, I thought I'd share, though no road tests were performed so far.
First pic shows how I attached it on the right. The bracket is original one, bent over.
Second pic shows where I placed the "control unit". It's on the air filter box.
I also added a relay, it's placed under the seat on the right side. It takes current from license plate light. You can see it on 3rd image.
Fourth pic shows the bracket I intended to use before this discussion. It was supposed to be placed in the way you can see on 5th pic, with the smaller part glued to the plastic and bolts comming through drilled holes, to attach the main bracket. This isn't the worst way to mount it, but has two drawbacks- first, it makes the high rpm range visibility worse. It just distracts the eye. Second, it makes taking this plastic off much more difficult. Third- it's harder place to reach.
