Land Rover parts/shop needed near Akuryeri

Hi,

I lost my alternator and need an replacement or at least longer belt, because I have spare one but did not pay attention while packing and turns out I took one with the bigger pulley, so the both belts I have with me are too short. Can you recommend a shop or parts store near Akureyri ? I'm currently on a campground near town and waiting till tomorrow when anything will be open here. My ride is 1996 Land Rover Discovery 300tdi. Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Jerry.

When you say "lost" do you mean it has disappeared?? You can swap the pulleys if you can find someone with a 24mm socket and a rattle gun (it is hard to hold the pulley to undo the nut, but a rattle gun makes it easy)
I can't help with workshop info though, sorry.
Good luck.

Edit: Don't read Icelandic, but the pictures of the workshop look appropriate:

Thanks for reply, I will check this shop tomorrow, at least they should have the rattle gun. When I wrote "lost" I meant my alternator turned into non working piece of metal. I believe rectifier diodes died.
Thanks again!
Rgds,
Jerry.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
