Smile HU Romania 2019 will be Aug 23-25!

We're very pleased to announce the 1st HU Romania meeting! Călin Nucuță and Doru Dobrota are organising this meeting, ably assisted by Marian Balan, Adriana Dobrota, Ionut Priscacariu, Diana Cordea and volunteers. They've found a great venue with fantastic riding and it's going to be an awesome event! Registration is open now!

Check out this pic by our organiser Călin Nucuță :

Thank you Susan for the introduction!

We are really happy to open the registration for the first ever Horizons Unlimited Travellers Meeting from Romania.
This is a big step for us because we started with creating guidebooks about Romania (see Carpathian 2 Wheels Guide project) and finally managed to host an international event like HU. Our main objective has always been to promote Romania and such and a travelers meeting is a way to reach our goal.

In the first year the location will be a hut at the base of the Fagaras Mountains: The Hut from the Waterfall.
I already know what you are thinking about and the answer is yes, the Transfagarasan Road is only 30 Km away.
We have several rooms available and campsite is in the garden nearby the hut.

As you already know from HU events, we will have presentations, discussions and two practical courses.
More details about these will be published as soon as we have them. I will keep you up to date on this topic!

What we can already tell you is that the food from each evening will be Romanian traditional recipes cooked on the open fire.
If you have tried some Sarmale, Smoked pork shank with beans or Gulas, you know what we are talking about.
A shot of Palinca (traditional Romanian beverage) will be on the house on arrival.

For specific details check out the registration form.

For any questions feel free to ask here.

Until then we have some of the reasons you should come to in Romania:

Old Valley with traffic:

Fagaras Mountains from tarmac:

Alba Iulia Citadel:

Apuseni Mountains tarmac road:

Hope to see you there!

Participare la event in August

Salutari,

O zi faina!
Calin

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
