Welcome to HU Germany!

Hi guys out there,

only about 2 more weeks and we will meet again!

Can´t wait to see you... after so many meetings we made a lot of good friends!

By the way a good BMW Dealer is BMW Stilgenbauer/64646 Heppenheim.

It is not around the corner, about 60 km away, but they are really good.

If you need more help in the area - I live nearby:

67549 Worms

See you soon!

Jens

Unfortunately my sidecar isn't any good for offroad traveling.
Its a nice one, Suzuki Bandit GV75A or "Kult" with EZS RX4 manufactured by Carell/Engbers, but too heavy with 185er car tires, GFK sidecar and not many space between the road and bending (hope its the right word for it).

I am coming to see what alternatives i may have from buying a GS 650F with sidecar, because its very expensive.
Maybe i will get a Jialing, it seems a good one to travel offroad and its a lot more cheaper.

but there will be a lot of time to talk, learn and discuss such things

I know I'm not directly answering your question, but hope it's still helpful:
Michelin maps are online as well, and if you zoom to the right amount it will show you exactly what you would see with a paper map, including their indications for scenic roads, etc. If you want you can even print them as well!

This link should show you the area that the camping is in:

Oh, we'll be presenting at the meet this year! We presented at the first two Ontario meetings in 2012 and 2013, and after a one year hiatus we'll be back on stage

We'll do three presentations: Top 3 Annoyances - A pillion's perspective, a Pecha Kucha on Iran and Turkey and a non-mechanic's RTW-trip (how to do a trip when you're not really mechanically inclined, ie me). Come join the presentations!

Can't wait to meet new overlanders and to hear stories. It's always fascinating to hear all the stories from other overlanders and help others plan their trips. We've always walked away having met new friends and learned new things about travels!

Trips we're considering:
  • Europe to The Stans and back
  • Buy a sidecar in China and drive it to Europe (via The Stans)
  • Cape to Cape (North Cape to Cape Town/Cape Agulhas)

Three (2 bikes) of us will take a ferry from Malmö, Sweden to Germany this Wednesday night, then Thursday take a leisurely day driving down. Then on Sunday we drive back.

And of course, check out our website and blog:

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
