We are in!

It's been 10 years since my last HU meet in North Carolina. I am excited to attend my first meeting in Germany! Dragging hubby along - he is a bit sceptical, but I know he will love it.
We secured a "Mini Holzhuette" at the campground yesterday (we are not equipped for camping in a tent).
Looking forward to May!

I'm lucky enough to be able to work from anywhere but my holiday allowance is already super strained. Can anyone tell me how much tends to take place in the mornings at these gatherings? I would love to be able to work in the morning, until 1130, and not miss too much.

I'm looking at booking some accommodation at the site; neither of us are huge fans of camping so it'll be something with four walls and a roof.

The best value option at Pfrimmtal is a Chalet which sleeps 4; we're only two so does anyone want to share? For 4 nights (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday) it'll cost 316E - so 158E for another couple who'd like to share.

The best value is Holzhuette, which sleeps 2. € 33 total per night.
It is not listed in their price list. But I found a comment about those Holzhuette and called the campground directly. Very friendly people.
May be they still have one of those Holzhuette left.

Newbie

Well just booked and paid for this and it will be my first HU meeting. It will also be part of a month long trip down to Greece so may also be good to pick up some tips and advice on the area.

Presentations and workshops wanted...

Hi guys,

like on every Meeting we would like to see your travel stories!

It doesn´t have to be a "superprofessional presentation" with the best pictures... just show what you have and tell us about your trip!

It doesn´t have to be a "10 year around the world trip", it can be also on a Moped going somewhere... everything can be funny! Old trips of 50 years ago can be great too!!!

Just bring your Laptop and your pictures - we have the beamer on the spot.

---

Workshops - any idea?

Outdoor-Cooking, Electric problems, GPS, first aid, GOPRO, fix flat tyres, saddle bags etc. Anything can be a workshop - or not?

See you soon - Jens

Smile

We've just booked the weekend.

It is the first HU event for us, so we are very exited to meet a lot of travellers.
What is your experience, will most people arrive already on Wednesday or on Thursday?

Argentinian barbecue sounds great for me.
My girlfriend is vegetarian, but don't worry I will eat for two :-)

See you soon
Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang - welcome!

Welcome to Horizons Unlimited!

You will meet a friendly crowd of people - with a lot of travel experience!
We are pretty international on the spot, great to get good information.

And we will have beautiful presentations about wonderful trips.

The area is perfect for motorcycles - Pfälzer Wald is one of the topspots in Germany, even a ride out into France is possible!

If it should be cold, bring your swim gear, there a 2 public indoor pools nearby! MonteMare Kaiserslautern, and Kirchheimbolanden.

See you soon - Jens

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
