Good point. I'm not sure what jetting the Australian and European XRRs come with.
I can tell you that the American bikes come with a highly restrictive intake manifold, and some of the air inlets on the airbox are blocked with rubber plugs.
If I was going to use this bike for overlanding where fuel conservation was important, I'd leave it stock, but adjust the jetting so that it doesn't run so lean and hot. Even stock, this bike makes tons more power than the XRL.
The overheating this bike experiences is supposedly due to a lean pilot condition, but as mine's never overheated, I can't verify that.
