So you want to build/buy a big expedition truck?

While in the Covid lockdown, I have some spare time so I can pass on my wisdom ( well opinions anyway )

If you are considering a big truck here are few tips on the downsides to these fantastic beasts.

What could possibly go wrong with an overland expedition truck?

Have fun and don't let me put you off your dream.

We crossed the Peel River a few days ago - the ferry was newly open (that day) after a lot of problems, and subsequently shut down for high water, although it's open again now. On the way north to the river we met a number of large vehicles which had tried to take the ferry and been turned back because they were too big. Our JK was taken on the ferry with no question.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
