AW: Sochi Trabzon car ferry IMPORTANT INFORMATION! And a call for help :)

Perhaps this information is helpful if anyone wants to make the trip around the black sea:
in may 2012 we crossed the border from russia to georgia. It was no problem, we used the old military road.
As I heard, the border is still open. Also for transit travellers.
Good luck
Stefan

Any updates on this ferry? Hoping to use it as a back up to cross to Russia if the Georgia Military road is still blocked in 5 weeks time.

Thanks.

Trabzon to Sochi

Hi Everyone,

Need help. Me and my husband are driving from UK to India. We are in Greece today and trying to get info on ferry crossing from Trabzon to sochi (including our car-range rover -2.5mtr). Due to visa issues, we can not go via road from Georgia. We have only on option and that is
Trabzon - sochi - Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran- Mumbai
Original was via china but due to land slide - china to Tibet is closed so we have chosen Iran!

Any idea if Trabzon- sochi ferry are operating? what dates? I assume cost is USD 500 for car and roughly USD150 per passenger.

we will be looking around 3-5 th October preferably.

Can some one please advise on ferry details. I have sent plenty of emails to various agents but got no answer.

Our Russia onwards plans are all booked and fixed with visa/hotel etc .

Still hanging with Trabzon - sochi ferry.

Really need to know

Thanks
Aarti
