I too am on the run from the not so long arm of Norwegian justice. I " accidentally declined" to pay one of their exorbitant city traffic charges to cover about 2 miles to the ferry. Nothing ever happened and I've been back since. Don't worry, it's not like you are part of Russian Girl Band booked to play at the Olympics or anything
Proper fines for speeding or drinking I think would get the proper Plod involved.

We have the same silly system here in Sweden, were private parking companies are controlling parking on private ground. As soon as you have Swedish "personnummer" they will find you and will force you to pay. This goes so far that courts, in case were the car owner had a bought a parking ticket, but the parking guard had missed it, he still had to pay the fine. Reason: the word of a parking guard goes above the word of a citizen! Unbelievable! Similar win margings will only be acchieved in drug dealing!
So as long as he doen't live in Norway and doesn't have a norwegian personnummer, you can tell your friend that he is save!

In a fashion, yes, that too, but as the fine wasn't paid, I was kinnda wondering if their powers could reach over here in England, but, more importantly, if my bikes Reg' Number rings any alarms on any Police radar, would I be in deep

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
