long term mc storage scandanavia

Hi folks,

We want to start doing one way trips from the uk where we can drop off/store out bikes for something like 6 months at a time at the end of the trips, fly home and return months later to continue our trip. to start this rather discombobulated tour we're hoping that there may be places that we can do this in Norway, Sweden or Finland.

so perhaps dropping off in October and pick up again sometime next year. if there would be a service option before picking up then that would be positively super.

Does anyone know of a place that provides this service?

much thanks in advance

Hey Dippy, quick google gave me few results, it is about 65£ per month in Stockholm, from October until March. https://www.mc-forvaring.se/kontakt.php
It is in swedish but I'm sure you can google translate it.

Most MC shops offer storage & maintenance. Here is one example, a good shop, unfortunately not in English but I think the prices are pretty clear even in finnish….

Dippy, tip on this as I've looked into it too.

When taking your bike across the border from the UK into Schengen, there maybe some benefit of doing so in a van via the Eurotunnel because they don't always check inside.

Relevant to your (and my) plans given the post-Brexit rules about only being allowed to have you bike in the EU for 6 months a year; if they don't know when it entered, then who knows when that 6 months started?! ;-)

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
